I am very pleased with the repairs carried out by Halliday Construction Corp on our old house. Keven was very sensitive to our requirement concerning the preservation of the character of the section of the house where the repairs were being undertaken. Halliday Construction Systems Ltd. has done minor and medium-scale construction/repairs for me since 2004. Their work is competitively priced, completed on time, and done at a high level of skill and quality. They work with some prestigious clients in the Boston area but are completely down-to-earth with modest customers such as myself. This is a well-run small company with fewer than a dozen full-time employees, all of them courteous and efficient. The subcontractors Halliday hires show up on time and do good work.
The Halliday family members who own the company know their materials and design principles. They do considerable research, as needed, to solve particular problems (they see themselves as problem solvers and not merely construction experts). Not only are all the Halliday team friendly and sensitive to clients' needs, they are also highly intelligent and teach me a great deal about construction and small business operations, even though I had considerable construction experience as a teen. Halliday Construction recently completed a project in my home requiring specialized, fine carpentry. I wanted to create 4 feet of wainscoting to match the 120 year old wood work that is currently throughout my home. The level of detail was extraordinary; it included a series of small square frames that needed to fit exactly into the space, the challenge being that the the size of the squares descended by fractions of an inch. I had been told several other carpenters that an exact match could never be achieved. Enter Keven Halliday and his professional team. They sent me their fine carpenter who had been doing this kind of detailed work for many, many years. With the precision of an engineer, he measured, he calculated, drew several options with pencil and paper, then measured again before installing an identical piece of wainscoting -- a perfect match.
